About PCOSS
The State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces (PCOSS), located in Xiamen University, announced its establishment in 1987. The laboratory's main research interest is the physical chemistry of solid surfaces, solid/gas and solid/liquid interfaces as well as atomic and molecular clusters. Many achievements have received international recognition. The laboratory underwent the external evaluation organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and was ranked as grade-A ( ca. top 15% ) in 1994 and 1999 respectively.
The laboratory has organized many conferences successfully, especially the 46th annual meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) held in 1995. More than 800 participants from about 50 countries (and areas) attended this grand meeting. These activities have promoted international scientific exchanges and cooperation.
