The Payment of the On-site Registration:

On-site registration as well as accommodation can be made with Cash, Traveler’s Check or Credit Card such as Visa, Master, American Express and JCB cards.

Accommodation payment can be made in advance or on-site without difference in fee. However, a first-come first served policy will be applied.

About Cancellation Policy:

For cancellation for the advanced registration, post-conference tour and post-symposium made before and on Feb. 27, 2004, 100% of the paid fee after the bank commission will be refund.
For cancellation for the advanced registration, post-conference tour and post-symposium made after Feb 27, 2004, only 85% the paid fee after the bank commission will be refund.
For cancellation for the accommodation reservation, 100% of the paid fee after the bank commission will be refund.

VISA application and invitation letter

The symposium organizer will send the formal invitation letter to the participants as the supplemental document for obtaining the visa. The whole procedure to obtain the Chinese visa normally takes 2 to 4 weeks, depending on different countries. Please contact us at your earliest convenience so that we will issue the whole visa application materials for you.

Currency and credit cards

The unit of Chinese currency is Yuan (RMB). The exchange rate is subject to market fluctuations, approximately 1 US$ for 8.27 RMB. Major credit cards including VISA, Master Card, American Express are accepted at some hotels, department stores and restaurants.

Currency Exchange

During the symposium dates, there will be a bank about 20 m from the hotel open for currency exchange during the work hours. The following currencies are included in the service: US dollar, Euro, UK pound and Japanese yen.

Weather

Weather in Xiamen in March is moderate with temperatures between 12-25°C with the average rainfall 90-95 mm.

Communications

The symposium Secretariat office will have at least two computers available for sending and receiving emails for free. To use which kind of utility all depends on the participants. There is also an Internet bar in the IAEC A, it provides more than ten PC computers that connect to the Internet. The price is about 0.5 US$ /1 hr. The participants can send and receive email there.

Electricity

Electricity supply is 220 volts/50 Hz A.C. You may want to bring your own adapters.
