Located at the southeastern edge of Xiamen island, Xiamen University was founded in 1921 by Mr. Tan Kah Kee, famous overseas Chinese. It enjoys not only the academic reputation, but also some of the most beautiful scenery in China such as the colorful Lotus garden, graceful trees, verdant lawns and tranquil lakes. Besides, the Anthropology Museum of Xiamen University is worth visiting. It takes about half an hour to one hour to see those interesting relics of nationality, folk custom and Archaeology exhibition in the Museum.

March 9 (Tuesday), 13:00-18:00 (US$ 15) Jimei Town, 17 kilometers from Xiamen city covers an area of 2.83 square kilometers. In 1913, Tan Kah Kee, famous overseas Chinese, established Jimei School Village, which can be regarded as an epitome of China’s educational system. It is also a special sightseeing area, presenting various and reputation of being “Fujian’s Stone Carving Museum”. |
